About The Novel
It’s Thanksgiving 1988, and Rachel receives a call from her husband of only five months asking her to meet him in Paris at Christmas, where he plans to fly in for the holidays from his assignment on an aircraft carrier far out at sea.
But because he is a United States Marine, and thousands of miles separate them, she won’t be able to speak to him again face-to-face until they meet in the hotel lobby.
Hopelessly romantic Rachel flies to Paris to reunite with her service member husband. If everything goes according to their dreams, hopes, and plans, Rachel and Denton will experience their first Christmas in Paris.
Amid a lot of uncertainties, Rachel fears that it all sounds too good to be true. If things go wrong in their young marriage, she might find herself wandering the rainy streets of Paris alone. In an age before cell phones and the internet, can a couple of newlyweds connect in Paris for a once-in-a-lifetime Christmas together?
Or will this be a Christmas to forget?
